Charlie came in late from work ... again.
Maybe this job wasn't such a good idea... he thought, looseing his tie and running a hand through his hair.
The house was dark - Bianca was probably already in bed, she usually was now when he came home. He missed her.
He wondered fleetingly how it was possible to miss your wife when you lived in the same house, slept in the same bed, but he missed her all the same. The few moments between when they woke up in the morning to when they left for the ministry were nowhere near enough time.

I was just interviewed for my new job in the Department of Magical Creatures. I hope it all goes over well, now that Bee and I have a house and everything I think I need a better job than working in a bookshop.
And I mean, I worked for them before. Just not ... just not in the Ministry. But there's no way I'm going back to field work.

Out of Character:
Cols and I have talked about everything, and we're going to push this back a few weeks. We didn't think that it would be such a big deal and we didn't know that everyone would get so upset. We still it to be soon, though, and they're still going to have triplets. That's been our plan for a long time, even before we knew that Sirius was going to have twins. We're sorry if it seemed like we were just copying you, Kay - but please realize that we weren't. We really, really didn't mean to make this big of a deal out of it and didn't even realize that anyone would be bothered by it. We also figured that since wizards seem to have different lifespans than muggles, this could change, too. Buuuut we really didn't want to create a problem, and we're going to fix it and make it all better now.

Charlie opened his eyes slowly, first noticing the redhead curled up beside him, with one arm flung arcoss his chest.
He smiled and gently brushed some of Bianca's hair out of her face. He kissed her forehead lightly before slipping out of bed. She looks so content...
He pulled on a pair of pajama pants (it wouldn't do to have Lewis see him standing in the kitchen in his boxers, or what if his Mum just decided to 'pop' by, like she had about a million times since they came home yesterday?) and made his way quietly into the kitchen. It was their first morning home since they'd been married, and Charlie wanted to make it special.
Twenty minutes later, he was carrying a steaming tray back into his, no, their bedroom. He had even left out a plate for Lewis, who he figured was still sleeping. He set the tray on the end table and leaned over her. "Wake up, Mrs. Weasley," he whispered. "I have a suprise for you..."

It was time.
Charlie stood in front of a small group of his family and friends, his hands clasped behind his back. It took every shred of self control not to start pacing back and forth again, like he had last night.
He stole another glance at the back door of the Burrow, hoping for just a glimpse of Bianca. So he could know that it was really happening. That someone wasn't going to stand up and say, "GOTCHA!"
His Mum caught his eye and beamed at him. Charlie smiled back. It really was real.
Suddenly the music started and the door opened and he froze, rooted to the spot, almost afraid to breathe.
This is it.

Charlie took a last look around his flat. He ran his fingers through his hair, wondering if he had forgotten anything. Satisfied that he had, in fact, remembered everything, he allowed himself to relax a bit, then picked up his bag.
He apparated to his old room at the Burrow, setting the duffel down on Bill's old bed. He crossed his arms and leaned against the wall, studying the small room. His bed was directly in front of him. His mum still kept his favorite bedspread, despite the fact that he hadn't spent more than a few nights at the Burrow since he had moved to Romania, years ago.
Romania.
He swallowed a little. "I love her, Nadine. I love her and I'm meant to be with her."
( A cool breeze came through the window, ruffling his hair a tiny bit, and he smiled. )

Charlie was nervous.
He had been pacing the kitchen floor in his flat for the past half an hour. He had barely touched his supper, and just kept pacing. Everything was ready. There was really nothing for him to be worried about.
Unless...
He shook his head. He was worrying over nothing. He loved Bianca and she loved him and they were getting married. Nothing was going to go wrong.
Then why do I have the feeling something is going to?
That was crazy, of course. He had to stop worrying.
Charlie sank into his chair and closed his eyes, hoping for Lewis or one of his brothers to pop up. After all, a bloke wasn't supposed to spend his last night of bachelorhood alone worrying, was he? He needed someone to tell him he was being stupid, that nothing was going to go wrong. Everything had been planned. Everything.
I'm really getting married tommorow...

Okay, so I'm about half-way through HBP, and just ... wow.
It's still kind of hard to believe that it's real, that I'm really reading it and holding it and ohmigod just amazing.
However, my mother, who shall henceforth be called the Harry Potter Nazi, is making me stop to pack. Which sucks. And I figured that while I'm distracted I should let you all know that I'm leaving tommorow to go to Long Beach Island, and then from there, I'm going to Washington DC for Girls Nation. I'll be home on July 30th, and I'll miss you all terribly until then.

Charlie sat on his bed, holding a small portrait of a grinning, blonde witch holding an as equally blonde little girl. They both smiled and waved at him, and he felt a lump rise in his throat.
He had loved Nadine - he had worked beside her for years before he realized it, and she was ripped away from him so cruelly. A tear worked its way down his cheek as he traced the outline of her face with his fingertip. He still loved her, her and that beautiful little baby girl. The tears turned to silent sobs as he hugged the photograph to his chest. But he knew what he had to do - his heart belonged to Bianca now, and he had given it willingly. Through all of those years, he had never stopped loving her, and it was only with her that the dark cloud that was over him since Nadine's death dissapated.
She made him feel alive.
He looked at the picture again. Nadine nodded at him, as if telling him that he wasn't betraying her by loving Bianca. That she wanted him to be happy. He wiped at his eyes and put it down on his night table, picking up the only other object on it and slipping it in his pocket. He was happy with Bianca, happier than he had ever been. And he loved her with every ounce of his being. He was so afraid of loosing her, like he had lost Nadine. It was a thought that haunted him for most of the time - if he lost Bianca, he was incredibly sure that he would die.
He stood and walked into the bathroom, scrubbed at his face, and brushed his teeth. He grabbed the large picnic basket that was sitting on the table in the kitchen and his wand, and then apparated to Hogsmeade. Charlie took as seat on a worn bench in front of the Three Broomsticks, tapping his foot nervously.
Come on, where's your Gryffindor courage when you need it?

Ach, it's been a while since I found the time to update this thing.
1. I got a job! Not a very good job, mind, but it pays the bills. I'm working at this little bookshoppe. It's quite quaint, really. Not a lot of customers, but I get to read whatever I like, so it's cool.
2. I have the craziest notion to ask Bianca to marry me - am I sane? Er, nah, I haven't gotten a #2, yet.
